Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal will publish a book with Threshold Editions, a Simon & Schuster imprint. The book is called American Will: The Forgotten Choices That Changed Our Republic. The book will be published on October 20, 2015. The book deal was announced by Louise Burke, President and Publisher of Simon & Schuster.
Jindal discusses how some of history's greatest lessons can be applied to today's critical issues in the book. Threshold Editions says, "Whether it's the exciting story behind the Louisiana Purchase, the conflict between the Federalists and anti-Federalists, Reagan v. Nixon on the welfare front, or how the Cold War was nearly lost, American Will illustrates the dramatic tales that demonstrate the courage, faith, and vision that we need in 2016 and what we can learn from our past."
Jindal says in a statement, "This book is a call to arms for the future. It is inspired by the dramatic stories of great Americans whose lessons inform the principles and beliefs I cherish and champion."
The book announcement come amidst speculation about whether or not Jindal will run for president in 2016. Jindal did announce the formation of a presidential exploratory committee last week.
Jindal said in the announcement, "For some time now, my wife Supriya and I have been thinking and praying about whether to run for the Presidency of our great nation. We'll make a final decision in June, after the legislative session in Louisiana ends. If I run, my candidacy will be based on the idea that the American people are ready to try a dramatically different direction. Not a course correction, but a dramatically different path."
