50 Cent Inks Deal With Penguin Group to Write Fitness Book

Posted on December 10, 2011

Rapper and actor Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson is ready to share the secrets of his physique. He's inked a deal with Avery, an imprint of Penguin Group USA to release his book, Formula 50: A 6-Week Total Body Transformation Plan. The book, which will be released in January, 2013, is being co-written by Jeff O'Connell, Editor-in-Chief of Bodybuilding.com. Megan Newman, Vice President and Editorial Director of Avery, will edit the book.

The publisher says the key ingredient of 50 Cent's workout program is metabolic resistance training (MRT), which ""breaks down the barriers between traditional weight training and cardio." Penguin says the book also provides nutrition advice and "helps readers develop the mental toughness and motivation to stick with the plan."

50 Cent had this to say about his latest book project: "I am delighted to work with the Penguin Group USA again. I had a strong desire to write this book because is very important to me to help people make positive changes and take charge of their overall health. Formula 50 is a radical six week mind-body transformation plan geared to help readers develop mental toughness to achieve optimum results while offering a nutrition component."

Update: The cover of the book has been released. It has a chiseled 50 Cent on the cover in a tank top.
