Actress Abigail Breslin Cuts Book Deal With HarperCollins

Actress and singer Abigail Breslin has cut a book deal with HarperCollins. Her first book, This May Sound Crazy, evolved from her Tumblr blog. It will be published in October 2015.

Abigail, now 18, is best known for her Oscar-nominated role in Little Miss Sunshine when she was a little girl. She has been acting in film since age five. Her first role was in Signs when she was five. She will make the move to TV in Ryan Murphy's horror comedy series, Scream Queens, which will premiere on Fox this fall. Abigail is also a singer. Her debut album, The World Now< will drop on June 15, 2015.

Abigail says her new book evolved from her Tumblr blog called Mixtapes and Winter Coats. She says, "I started my tumblr Mixtapes and Winter Coats because I wanted to share my late night ramblings and feels, such as talking to my cat at 2 AM, with all of you. That blog evolved into my book, This May Sound Crazy. I hope when you read it, you'll see that you are not alone even when you're wondering when it's ok to text your crush first, which is the most terrifying situation ever."

Dave Linker, Executive Editor at HarperCollins, says in a statement that Abigail "channels the angst of her generation with a fearlessness that's at once hilarious and deeply moving." He also says, "Anyone who's ever had a broken heart or felt lost or who just wished for a perfect Christmas Day will feel instantly understood in these pages."
