Alex Ben Block Joins eStar as Vice President/Editor-In-Chief

Alex Ben Block, editor of The Hollywood Reporter from 1992 through 1998, has been named Vice President and Editor-In-Chief of eStar Inc., a Silicon Valley company creating a celebrity-oriented website for debut in Winter, 1999. The veteran Hollywood journalist will be responsible for the editorial voice and direction of the eStar site. Block and his staff will be based in eStar's Los Angeles offices.
"I'm very excited at the opportunity to work with the eStar team," says Block, "and to use the latest technology to reach a global audience while maintaining the highest standards of journalism." Block will report to Charles Wyke-Smith, eStar's Vice President of Web Development.
eStar, Inc. was founded in 1999. Its management team consists of web and entertainment industry professionals. eStar aims to become the premiere website for celebrity-focused content, commerce and community. The company is privately funded.
