Posted on October 13, 1999

Alibris, a source of out-of-print books, has announced that it will acquire the assets of Bibliocity Inc., a source of rare and antiquarian books. The move will expand Alibris' dealer network and online book inventory.

Martin Manley, President and CEO of Alibris, stated, "By combining operations with Bibliocity, Alibris' customers will have greater access to the broadest and most comprehensive supply of out-of-print, rare, and antiquarian books available anywhere."

Bibliocity CEO Paul Pritchard added, "Alibris has dramatically increased revenues for their independent dealers by developing strong sales channels through online booksellers, retail stores, and libraries. Merging operations will offer our dealer netwo from Alibris' marketing efforts. We're especially excited by Alibris' library program for the simple reason that public, private, and academic libraries have tremendous appetites for the hard-to-find books that Bibliocity dealers offer."
