Amanda Knox Hires Attorney to Represent Her in Book Deal

Amanda Knox has hired a law firm to represent her in finding a book deal. The Christian Science Monitor reports that Knox has hired Washington, D.C. attorney Robert Barnett to represent her in responding to various publishers who have expressed an interest in publishing her memoir.

Barnett has represented some major figures who got book deals, including President Barack Obama, Barbra Streisand, President Bill Clinton and President George W. Bush. Amanda's former Italian boyfriend, Raffaele Sollecito, has also hired a literary agent to represent him. He hired agent Sharlene Martin. Amanda and Raffaele were convicted of murdering Amanda's roommate while they were students in Italy. Their convictions were overturned in October by an Italian appeals court after the forensic evidence was found to be unreliable.
