Consumers Union, the publisher of Consumer Reports magazine and Consumer Reports Online, has announced that it has signed a content distribution agreement with online retailer Amazon.com. Under the terms of the agreement, Consumer Reports' product information and ratings will be included in relevant areas throughout the Amazon.com website. Amazon.com customers will have free access to purchasing advice summaries from Consumer Reports, including information on what to look for and the latest product trends.
``We're pleased that we can offer the more than 25 million Amazon.com customers easy access to our unbiased ratings and recommendations in a way that allows us to maintain our independence,'' stated John Sateja, vice president, New Media at Consumers Union. ``Many consumers now view online purchasing as part of their lives, and they need independent, expert buying advice at their fingertips. Content distribution agreements like this one with Amazon.com solidify Consumer Reports' commitment to remain a constant, trusted source for product information and reviews in all shopping environments.''
``We are thrilled to be adding Consumer Reports to Amazon.com's extensive collection of product reviews and ratings,'' said Carl Gish, general manager of Amazon Electronics. ``Consumer Reports' commitment to unbiased and helpful information is exactly in line with our mission of making it easy for customers to find, discover and buy the right products.''
