Amber Ankerholz Named Editor in Chief of Sys Admin Magazine

Amber Ankerholz has been named Editor in Chief of Sys Admin magazine. Ankerholz joined the magazine in 1995, as the publication's Managing Editor. She succeeds Ralph Barker, who was recently named Editor in Chief of Performance Computing magazine.

"I'm excited about my new role with Sys Admin. It allows me to take a greater part in the editorial direction of the magazine and better address the needs of the readers within the evolving UNIX industry," said Ankerholz.

In another promotion, Julie Thornton has been made National Sales Manager for Sys Admin magazine. Thornton joined Miller Freeman in 1995 as Advertising Account Manager for C/C++ Users Journal and Windows Developer's Journal. She moved to Account Manager for Sys Admin in 1996, and was promoted to Senior Account Manager in early 1999.

Sys Admin: The Journal For Systems Administrators, published by Miller Freeman, Inc., provides technical information for UNIX systems administrators working in heterogeneous computing environments. Written by administrators for administrators, Sys Admin covers all popular UNIX system, storage, and networking environments. Sys Admin is based out of Miller Freeman's Lawrence, Kansas office.
