Posted on July 29, 2016

Starz has released the first trailer for the television adaptation of Neil Gaiman's bestselling novel American Gods. A recently released ex-convict named Shadow Moon, played by The 100's Ricky Whittle, has his world turned upside down when he is informed that his wife is dead. He meets a mysterious character named Mr. Wednesday (Ian McShane) who hires him to be his bodyguard. Wednesday is really the God Odin from Norse mythology and he is rounding up an army to take on the new gods.

The old gods are angry at being left behind as worshippers are turning to the new gods such as Technology Boy (Bruce langley) and Media (Gillian Anderson). Wednesday and Shadow travel the country looking for the old gods and getting into quite a bit of trouble.

The show also stars Yetide Badaki, Emily Browning, Dane Cook, Cloris Leachman, Pablo Schreiber, Peter Stormare, Jonathan Tucker, Orlando Jones and Crispin Glover. The show will debut in 2017 and we cannot wait to see it. Take a look:
