Andrews McMeel Publishing (AMP) has announced plans to publish The Complete Calvin and Hobbes by Bill Watterson as a paperback edition on November 13, 2012. The hardcover edition of The Complete Calvin and Hobbes has sold more than 600,000 copies since it was published in 2005. The paperback version will cost $100.

The four-volume slip-cased edition features French flaps and includes every cartoon published in syndication between November 1985 and January 1, 1996. It includes an introduction by Watterson in which he shares his inspiration for and evolution of the comic strip. Other features include cover artwork, illustrated stories and poems from Calvin and Hobbes collections and treasuries.

Hugh T. Andrews, chief executive officer and president of AMP, says, "We are thrilled with the opportunity to offer the complete chronicle of the adventures of Calvin and Hobbes, the most beloved cartoon duo of all time, in this new format. AMP enjoys a longstanding tradition of providing the highest quality content in a variety of exceptional formats, and among other things, this paperback edition provides a wonderful option for younger readers with smaller hands."
