IDW Publishing and Rovio Partner for Angry Birds Comic

IDW Publishing and Rovio have partnered to publish Angry Birds comics. The first comic book will be published in June 2014. The comics are based on the birds and pigs from the Angry Birds mobile games, which have over 2 billion downloads. Some of the characters include Red, Chuck, Bomb, Stella, Matilda and King Pig.

Chris Ryall, IDW's chief creative officer, says in a release, "We're very happy to be in business with Rovio on Angry Birds comics. Rovio has taken what was once a captivating game and built it into an interesting world filled with interesting and, uh, feathered characters who will make a perfect addition to our growing line of fun, all-ages comics."
