AOL Networks and Time Inc. to Launch Teen People Online

Posted on November 20, 1997

AOL Networks, the Internet online services division of America Online Inc. and Time Inc. New Media have announced an exclusive arrangement for the online version of Time Inc.'s new Teen People Magazine to be available only on AOL. Teen People, which will launch together at the newsstands and online in January 1998, will have an anchor tenancy on AOL's Teens Channel.

Teen People online will be an extension of the print publication, and will feature content exclusive to AOL members including a "Celebrities" area featuring multimedia slideshows, a "Real Teens" area showcasing the accomplishments of everyday young people, as well as advice columns, daily horoscopes, and chat and message boards. The agreement also calls for broad cross-promotion.

This complements the new streamlined, simplified channel lineup introduced recently by AOL to raise its members' online experience to a new level of convenience and ease-of-use and ensure consistency across the service. Teen People on America Online will be available in January at keyword: Teen People.
