Author Opens Bookstore That Only Sells His Book

Posted on April 29, 2011

Author Andrew Kessler found a clever way to market his book. The New York Times reports that Kessler opened a Manhattan bookstore, Ed's Martian Book, that sells only his book, Martian Summer: Robot Arms, Cowboy Spacemen, and My 90 Days With the Phoenix Mars Mission.

The bookstore's shelves contain about 3,000 copies of his book about NASA's Phoenix Mars Lander mission. Kessler, who calls himself a Monobookist, told the New York Times, "This makes books feel like an art installation. We should care about them."
