B5media and About Weblogs Merge

B5media and About Weblogs have merged according according to a post on the Blog Herald. The thirty blogs published by About Weblogs will become part of b5media and Shai Coggins, the owner of About Weblogs, will take a stake in b5. Shai Coggins may have hinted at the merger in this post she made last month. About Weblogs publishes a variety of craft, lifestyle and personal growth blogs that don't overlap with any current b5media blogs. The combined network will have about 50 blogs and b5media says it has plans to launch more blogs before the end of the year.

Update: 5media has more about the merger in a post on its website. Shai Coggins says the post mentioned above was about a different network and not about b5. The network discussed in that post was actually 9rules.com as Paul Scrivens explained in a post on 9rules.
