BarnesandNoble.com Launches Affiliate Network

Posted on September 11, 1997

BarnesandNoble.com, a subsidiary of Barnes & Noble, Inc., unveiled its Affiliate Network. To date, more than 40 charter companies spanning general consumer, business-oriented and Internet-focused markets have signed on to partner with BarnesandNoble.com.

Affiliates earn commission on every book sold for all sales transactions generated through links from their site. The actual commission paid is determined by the level of sales generated by the participating Affiliate. In return, Affiliates may choose to provide advertising to stimulate sales. In addition to site specific marketing programs, Affiliates have access to the complete BarnesandNoble.com search engine consisting of all books currently available from more than 10,000 publishers. BarnesandNoble.com enlists a staff of account executives to work with affiliates to ensure that their co- branded bookstores are successful.

Affiliates can choose to partake in an additional revenue opportunity with the BarnesandNoble.com Affiliate Advertising Network. BarnesandNoble.com will sell highly targeted advertising across the network and give affiliates a percentage of the advertising revenue generated by their co-branded site, in addition to the commission they are already receiving on transactions.
