The U.S. Postal Service has unveiled a new set of Batman stamps. The stamps were created in partnership with DC Comics. The set celebrates the 75th anniversary of the famous Gotham City super hero.

The stamps feature eight unique designs. These include four cool looking circular stamps featuring different versions of the Batman logo. There are also four different rectangular stamps that feature iconic Batman scenes. DC Comics says each scene comes from a different era of comic book history. In one of the stamps Batman can be seen looking up at the Bat-Signal. In other he is climbing a rope. The stamp pane pictured above contains an image of Gotham City with Batman standing on a bridge.

The stamp pane was designed by U.S. Postal Service Art director Greg Breeding. A sheet with 20 Forever stamps costs $9.80. A framed collectible version of the stamps is available for $39.95. The new stamps can be found in USPS stores and online at store.usps.com.

Batman was also featured in a super hero stamp series from 2005. That series also featured Flash, Green Arrow, Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman and several other DC super heroes. The USPS also did a Marvel stamp set in 2006.

Here's Jim Lee talking about the new stamps at New York Comic Con.
