Beyond.com Expands Into Books
Posted on October 1, 1999
Internet software store Beyond.com has launched its Books tab to offer computer and technical books. Beyond.com's Books tab offers a wide range of digitally downloadable books including Ziff-Davis University titles and numerous game guides. The Books tab will feature entry level computer titles like IDG's The Internet for Dummies and Office 2000 Fast & Easy published by Prima Publishing as well as more technical programming titles like Sams Teach Yourself Linux in 24 Hours published by MacMillan.
"Beyond.com continues to make it easy for software buyers to find and buy the products that best suit their needs," said President and Chief Executive Officer Mark Breier. "Now customers can get software and a book at a single point of purchase. For example, gaming fans can digitally download Sybex's SimCity 3000 Unofficial Strategies and Secrets guide when stuck with a citizen's riot while playing SimCity3000 in the middle of the night."
