Bloggers Get Book Deals
Posted on April 18, 2005
A new USA Today article offers a look at several bloggers who have cut book deals. These bloggers are bloggers that have received mainstream media coverage.
The Washingtonienne (Hyperion) is a novel by Jessica Cutler, whose frankly discussed her sex life on Capitol Hill in a blog. Ana Marie Cox, a blogger at Wonkette.com, is also publishing a novel called Dog Days (Riverhead Books).
Several memoirs written by bloggers are also scheduled to be published including: Baghdad Burning: Girl Blog from Iraq by Riverbend; Anonymous Lawyer (tentative title) by Jeremy Blachman; I'm Not the New Me: A Memoir by Wendy McClure; My War: Killing Time in Iraq by Colby Buzzell; and Straight Up and Dirty: A Memoir by Stephanie Klein.
Congrats to all the bloggers turned authors. Meanwhile, Keith Thomson, the author of Pirates of Pensacola, did it in reverse. He wrote a blog to go with his novel.
