Bob Dole to Write WWII Memoir

Posted on May 5, 2004

Senate Republican Leader and decorated veteran Bob Dole is publishing a World War II memoir, A Veteran Remembers (HarperCollins) in 2005. A Veteran Remembers will be Senator Dole's most personal book to date.

Drawing upon the letters he exchanged with his family during the war, his own memories and opinions, as well as the words and actions of other veterans, Dole will frame the mindset of his generation. In the unvarnished, straight-talking style for which he's known, Senator Dole will describe the battles and the grave wounds he received as a G.I.; his long but triumphant recovery; and his vision of America.
