Bridget Moynahan Talks The Blue Bloods Cookbook

Posted on November 8, 2015

Family meals are very important on the CBS series, Blue Bloods. The family of police officers sit down at the table for gatherings and delicious meals. The dinner table gathering helped inspire the Blue Bloods Cookbook, which is co-authored by Bridget Moynahan and Wendy Howard Goldberg.

Moynahan plays an assistant district attorney on the series and the daughter of New York City Police Commissioner Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck). Blue Bloods is now in its sixth season. Moynahan tells CBS This Morning that they have had 111 dinner scenes so far on the series.

The Blue Bloods Cookbook contains over 100 recipes featuring Irish and Italian comfort food. Some of the dishes include Manhattan Clam Chowder, Chicken Francese, Rib Roast with Chippolin Onion Sauce and Arthur Avenue Spaghetti and Meatballs.

Moynahan says every one in the cast has their own technique when filming the dinner scenes. She says Selleck likes to butter his bread. She says some of the recipes are from the meals on the show, some are from her family and each cast member contributing a recipe. She says she rarely orders out and tries to cook every night.
