Posted on September 21, 2011

The British Library has released Alice's Adventures Under Ground by Lewis Carroll as an ebook. The book, which was given by Lewis Carroll to Alice Liddell for Christmas 1864, later became known by its more familiar title, Alice in Wonderland.

Lewis Carroll (the pen name for Charles Dodgson) was encouraged to rewrite the story and seek publication. The original manuscript contains illustrations by Charles Dodgson. He later commissioned John Tenniel to create drawings for Alice in Wonderland.

The ebook is currently available here on iTunes, where it will be free for a limited time according to the British Library. The ebook is part of the library's eBook Treasures series.
