Broadside Books to Publish New Book by Donald Rumsfeld

Posted on January 12, 2013

Broadside Books has announced it will publish a new book by Donald Rumsfeld, called Rumsfeld's Rules. The book will be published in May 2013. Rumsfeld's previous book, Known and Unknown: A Memoir, was published in 2011.

Broadside Books VP, Executive Editor, Adam Bellow, said in a statement, "Rumsfeld's Rules is a book with a truly unique and fascinating history. Begun at the request of Gerald Ford as a compilation of rules and advice for the president's White House staff, it grew over the years into a legendary handbook that circulated informally among high-level political and business figures. We're very proud to publish this unique distillation of wisdom from one of our country's most distinguished businessmen and public servants."

Broadside says Don Rumsfeld collected hundreds of observations about life and leadership during his career, which included Naval aviator, US Congressman, a top aide to four American presidents, an ambassador, and Secretary of Defense. When President Gerald Ford ordered the list of management aphorisms distributed to his staff, the collection became known as "Rumsfeld's Rules."
