Bush Asks Condi For a Hall Pass

Posted on September 15, 2005

Apparently Reuters has been hiring ex-CIA surveillance guys as their photographers. Or maybe ex-paparazzi. Who else could get a telephoto shot with a caption that reads "U.S. President George W. Bush writes a note to Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice during a Security Council meeting at the 2005 World Summit and 60th General Assembly of the United Nations in New York September 14, 2005"?

So, let's sit back and take stock of what's actually happening here. The leader of the free world passes a note to Condoleezza Rice during a UN Security Council meeting asking if it's possible for him to get a bathroom break? What was her response? Perhaps, "Mr. President, you should have gone before the Security Council meeting started"? If the leader of the free world needs a bathroom break, he should demand that Kofi Annan declare a recess. After all, no doubt someone else also needed to visit the little world leaders' room too. No need to be ashamed.
