John Grisham's Calico Joe to be Adapted Into Motion Picture

Posted on June 13, 2012

The Hollywood Reporter reports that Joe Chrisham's bestselling baseball novel, Calico Joe, will be made into a motion picture by Chris Columbus' 1942 Pictures. Columbus will both adapt the screenplay and direct the movie.

Grisham says Calico Joe was the most fun to write of al his novels. The novel is centered around Joe Castle, a fictitious legendary baseball player who played just 38 games for the Chicago Cubs before being hit by a pitch. Castle hit .488 and had 21 runs in those 38 games. NPR has an interesting interview with Grisham about the novel here.
