Cameron Connors Named Publisher of Popular Mechanics

Cameron Connors has been named publisher of Popular Mechanics. The magazine and website are published by Hearst Magazines. Connors was most recently president of Paper magazine. He joined Popular Mechanics on March 20th. He will report to Jack Essig, senior vice president and publishing director of the Hearst Men's Group. Connors was with Hearst from 20080 to 2010 when he was director of marketing services for Hearst Digital Media.

Connors said in a statement, "I look forward to returning to Hearst. With its rich heritage, deeply engaged audience, and strong multi-platform footprint, Popular Mechanics is well positioned as a modern media brand. I�m glad to be part of its continuing evolution."

Hearst says Popular Mechanics has nine million readers. Hearst bills it as the #1 ranked men's monthly magazine. The magazine arrived on the web early in 1995.
