Cary Elwes Writing Book About the Making of The Princess Bride

Cary Elwes is writing a book about the making of the film, The Princess Bride. Elwes played Westley in the wonderful 1987 film, which is based on the novel by William Goldman. Elwes' book is titled, As You Wish: Inconceivable Tales From The Princess Bride. It is set to be published in fall 2014 by Touchstone. The book includes a forward by director Rob Reiner.

Elwes was inspired to write the book following a cast reunion at the 2012 New York Film Festival, which celebrated the movie's 25th anniversary. Elwes is writing the book with Joe Layden. It will include interviews with Billy Crystal, Robin Wright, Carol Kane, Christopher Guest, Chris Sarandon, Wallace Shawn, and William Goldman.

Elwes said in a statement, "It was a joy to work on such a magical film with an amazing cast of talented actors and friends. It will be great fun to revisit The Princess Bride and to share my fond memories of the unforgettable experience we all had."
