Cheerios Launches New Author Contest

Posted on March 31, 2011

Cheerios has launched its New Author Contest. The contest includes a $5,000 cash prize and a possible publishing deal with Simon & Schuster Children's Publishing. The author will also have his or her book featured inside Cheerios cereal boxes nationwide.

Entrants must write and submit an original story, in either English or Spanish, suitable for children ages three to eight. The entry deadline is July 15, 2011.

Cheerios is also launching boxes of Cheerios that feature the 2009 winner, Laurie Isop, and her book, How Do You Hug a Porcupine?. The book, selected from over 8,000 entries, will be included inside three million Cheerios boxes this spring. We think children are going to be quite curious about how exactly you go about hugging a prickly porcupine.
