Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie Wins National Book Critics Circle Award for Fiction

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie's has won the National Book Critics Circle Award for Fiction for her novel, Americanah. The novel, which is published by Knopf, is a romance and an immigrant's tale about a young woman who moves from Lagos to New York. Ms. Adichie first novel made the long list for the Man Booker prize. Her second novel, Half of a Yellow Sun, won the Orange prize. Needless to say, her fourth book is hotly anticipated.

Criticism: Franco Moretti, Distant Reading (Verso)

Autobiography: Amy Wilentz, Farewell, Fred Voodoo: A Letter From Haiti (Simon & Schuster)

Biography: Leo Damrosch, Jonathan Swift: His Life and His World (Yale University Press)

Nonfiction: Sheri Fink, Five Days at Memorial: Life and Death in a Storm-Ravaged Hospital (Crown)
