Glee star Chris Colfer has landed a two book deal with Little, Brown Books for Young Readers. Written for 8-12 year old readers, The Land of Stories, will be published in the summer of 2012. It will be followed by a second untitled novel.
Known for his role as "Kurt Hummel" on Glee, Colfer is also a screenwriter who recently penned a pilot for the Disney Channel as well as the independent feature Struck by Lightning.
The Land of Stories combines our modern day world with the realm of classic fairy tales. It tells the tale of twins Alex and Conner Bailey. The twins leave their world behind and find themselves in a foreign land full of wonder and magic where they come face-to-face with the characters they grew up reading about.
Colfer says, "When I was ten years old, I promised myself that if I ever had the opportunity to write this book, I would jump at the chance. This book has been at the core of my imagination for a long time and I'm excited and nervous to share it."
