Cindy Crawford Covers Relaunch of Lonny Magazine
Posted on May 5, 2014
Cindy Crawford covers the relaunch of Lonny magazine. The digital magazine has a redesigned issue format for the May 2014 issue. Lonny is a digital home and design magazine published by Livingly Media, which also operates Zimbio and StyleBistro.
The digital magazine features a visual index that users navigate by selecting the different images on the homepage. Titles and topics are also provided when the user hovers over the image. A link to the table of contents is also provided on each interior pages.
John Newlin, VP of Content at Livingly Media, says in a statement, "This is about taking full advantage of the latest web publishing technology-which has always been our mission. Lonny came out of the gate as a pioneer in the digital shelter category and we're continuing on that path with this new design. We wanted to completely reimagine the digital magazine experience and deploy it on our custom publishing platform. The result is a collaboration between some of the best web developers in Silicon Valley and the most passionate and talented home and design editors in New York."
Irene Edwards, executive editor of Lonny, says, "The sense of motion is an important part of the new design; from video to animated type to the very act of scrolling from story to story. The subtle movement brings the experience to life and adds a depth and texture to the issues. This is by no means 'finished,' either. We'll be adding new features and functionality. I think our director of engineering, Cleve Pasarell, said it best: 'This is not so much a new platform as it is a springboard.'"
