Claude Sheer, President of ZD Publishing, announced a departure as well as several promotions and changes in responsibility for a number of his organization's executives.
Larry Burstein will be leaving his position as Executive Vice President of ZD Publishing at the end of the year to pursue other interests. "Larry's tenure here has been a great experience for Ziff-Davis. The dialogue he has established with consumer advertisers continues to bear rewards. With millions of dollars of non-technology advertising now in our publications, the door has been opened for automotive, apparel, financial, travel, and liquor advertisers to connect with Ziff-Davis' valuable audiences. During Larry's tenure, I was gratified to see great progress overall at each of our consumer magazines. This is just the beginning of where Ziff-Davis will take these dynamic titles. We wish him the best of luck in his new ventures," Sheer said.
Additionally, Sheer announced the promotions of Chris Dobbrow to Executive Vice President of ZD Publishing, Jon Lane to Vice President of ZD Publishing and Eric Lundquist to Vice President of ZD Publishing. In addition to PC Computing and Equip, Mr. Dobbrow will now be responsible for Computer Life and FamilyPC. "Both Computer Life and FamilyPC are strategic magazines with an important role to play in our portfolio. I am confident that Chris' proven track record in magazine positioning and management will help us move these key magazines forward," Sheer commented.
