CNN and Oracle Announce Relaunch of CNN CustomNews

CNN Interactive and Oracle Corp. have announced the relaunch of CNN CustomNews as MyCNN.com. The new site, powered by Oracle, is a personalized news site with a new interface and new content and features.

"MyCNN.com was designed to make it easier and quicker for our users to get to the news that really matters to them," said Scott Woelfel, CNN senior vice president, general manager and editor in chief, CNN Interactive. "MyCNN.com offers unparalleled richness of content and depth of personalization. The scalability of Oracle's software solution allows us continually to grow and update the service and its capabilities."

MyCNN.com allows users to view content via pop-up windows overlaid on their home page. The content, provided by CNN's worldwide bureaus and U.S. and international wire services, is determined by users who can choose from topics ranging from the health care to movie reviews. My CNN.com has approximately 800,000 registered users and serves 17 million pages of personalized content each month.
