CNNfn To Become CNN Money

The CNN News Group announced that CNNfn will be transformed to ``CNN Money'' later this year. Focusing on mainstream consumers, CNN Money will provide breaking financial news and enhanced coverage of personal finance. CNN Money will draw on a range of AOL Time Warner resources including Time Warner Cable, AOL and Time Inc.
Phil Kent, President and Chief Operating Officer of the CNN News Group, said: ``CNN Money, under the leadership of Ken Jautz, will advance our mission of providing necessary financial information to the widest possible range of viewers. CNN Money will take full advantage of the newsgathering, television and Web integration strategy recently announced at CNN, enabling it to offer valuable, timely and useful information for consumers representing the full spectrum of investors.''
With the evolution of CNNfn to CNN Money, the channel's programming following the close of the Market will be revitalized to focus on personal finance and small business. It will include both a television channel and website that are designed to work together. CNN Money will also receive additional carriage on Time Warner Cable as well as content and promotional support from Time Inc. brands, including Fortune and Money magazines. CNN Money will also receive traffic and promotional support from the AOL Personal Finance Channel.
