Posted on September 27, 2011

Colin Powell is writing a new book, It Worked For Me: Lessons in Leadership and Life, which will be published by HarperCollins in May, 2012. Tim Duggan, vice president and executive editor for HarperCollins, will edit the book.

Powell's new book, written with collaborator Tony Koltz, is a collection of lessons and personal anecdotes that have driven his career in public service. The book shares Powell's 13 Rules, which include, "Get mad, then get over it" and "Share credit."

Harper publisher Jonathan Burnham says, "General Powell is a truly inspirational figure: decades of public service have proven him to be an unparalleled leader, a man who commands respect in many fields. This remarkable book distills his wisdom into memorable anecdotes and lessons, drawing from his life and career. Harper is proud to be publishing his new book."
