College Newspapers Partner for Online Advertising and Ecommerce Dollars

Nearly 100 campus newspapers are partnering with a California-based company, CampusEngine.com, a provider of technology and marketing services on campus. CampusEngine.com provides the CampusEngine.com College Network to advertisers looking to reach college students.
More than 20 companies are using the CampusEngine.com College Network's advertising and ecommerce offerings to reach college students, said Bill Sotis, Vice President of Marketing for CampusEngine.com. ``Corporations looking to reach the college market are connecting with students and developing comprehensive marketing campaigns with the leading media organization on campus,'' Sotis said. ``Our network provides access to the hard-to-reach student market through state-of-the-art online portals run by the people who know this market better than anyone - the students.''
Sotis said the CampusEngine.com College Network is generating more than 5 million impressions per month with more than 800,000 unique visitors. The network is expected to grow to well over 100 campus newspapers by the end of the year, extending the reach to 2 million students. Beginning next semester, the network online newspapers will feature special advertising sections with exclusive shopping deals and category sponsorships.
The CampusEngine.com College Network includes newspapers serving the University of Texas at Austin, the University of Wisconsin at Madison, Florida State University, Indiana University, the University of Pennsylvania, Texas Tech, the University of Maryland, Indiana University, the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, the University of Alabama, the University of Illinois, California State University-Sacramento, the University of New Mexico and the University of Hawaii.
