"
In addition to workshops, the conference will feature two special speakers. For new writers, the conference provides sessions on writing basics, such as how to craft speech for characters in workshops like, "'Dialogue!'She Exclaimed." Beginner sessions like "From So-so to Sensational" explain how to kick-start a career, while "Fearless Creating," a workshop led by a psychotherapist, discusses the stages of the creative process. More advanced writers may attend workshops such as "Writing To Kill," about crafting murder in romantic suspense, or "What Every Writer Should Know About Taxes," a workshop led by a CPA.
The 18th Annual Romance Writers of America Conference will be held in Anaheim from Wednesday July 29, until Sunday August 2, 1998. More than 1,400 published and aspiring romance novelists, literary agents and publishing executives will meet to raise money for literacy, award the best in the industry and hone their craft.
