The Aura Estrada Short Story Contest is an annual contest is run by the Boston Review. The annual contest is named after Aura Estrada (1977–2007), a promising young Mexican writer and student.
The contest has a different theme each year. The theme for 2021 is repair. The judge for 2021 is Kali Fajardo-Anstine. There is a $20 entry fee. The contest has a $1,000 prize and publication in the magazine. Entries are accepted exclusively through Submittable. The maximum story length is 5,000 words.
