The Boston Review annual poetry contest has a different theme each year. The winner will be announced in the fall on the Boston Review website.
The winning author receives $1,000 plus publication in the Boston Review.
Entries are only accepted through Submittable. Simultaneous submissions are not permitted.
As to length the magazine says, "Send up to 5 poems or 10 pages, whichever comes first. The poems must be unpublished."
The judge for the 2022 contest is author, poet and creative writing professor Donika Kelly. The 2022 theme is "Speculation." The Boston Review says, "We want the theme to be very broadly interpreted, but we also shouldn’t have to guess at the connection between the theme and your entry."
A list of previous winning poems are available on the site.
