Boulevard magazine runs an annual fiction contest called the Short Fiction Contest for Emerging Writers. The contest carries a $1,500 cash prize plus publication in Boulevard. It is open to a writer who has not yet published a book of fiction, poetry, or creative non-fiction with a nationally distributed press.
There is a $16 entry fee for each individual story. The entries have to be postmarked by December 31, 2020 or submitted online using Boulevard's Sumittable form. The contest is judged by the editors of Boulevard.
The stories can be up to 8,000 words in length.
