The FIYAH literary magazine and Tor.com have partnered with the LeVar Burton Reads podcast for a new speculative fiction writing contest. The contest seeks stories that examine the "magical joys and tragic pitfalls of blended civilizations and cultural exchanges in all their forms."
The contest is open to all writers. The stories should be between 2800 and 5200 words. The submissions window runs from August 1st through August 31st.
The first place prize is $500. The story will be published on Tor.com and read by LeVar Burton on his podcast. The second place prize is $250 and publication on Tor.com. The third place is $100 and publication on Tor.com.
The winner will be announced on October 15, 2021.
