The Raymond Carver Short Story Contest is in its 20th year for 2020. Submissions to the contest are open from April 1 to May 15.
The content awards $3000 across five prizes. The prizes include: $2000 (1st), $500 (2nd), $250 (3rd), and two $125 (Editor's Choice).
Submissions can be made online ($17) or by mail ($15). 2020 is the last year mailed submissions will be accepted.
Stories can be up to 10,000 words long. No genre fiction. All stories must be previously unpublished.
Author Pam Houston is the guest judge for 2020. Prizewinners will be published in the October 2020 issue.
