Criminal Minds Star Thomas Gibson Suspended for Kicking Writer

Posted on August 11, 2016

Criminal Minds star Thomas Gibsonz has been suspended for kicking a writer on the set. Gibson plays Special Agent Aaron Hotchner on the long running series.

TMZ reports that the writer (who has not been named) reported the incident to his agent who then called network executives. TMZ says Gibson kicked the writer following a creative dispute between Gibson and the scribe.

Thomas is arguing that the writer started it. TMZ says Thomas claims he only kicked the writer in retaliation because the writer became aggressive. Gibson told People, "There were creative differences on the set and a disagreement. I regret that it occurred. We all want to work together as a team to make the best show possible. We always have and always will."

People also says Gibson was directing the episode during which he became angry and kicked the writer in the shin. A source tells People that the writer "seemed alright at the time, but when his team found out it turned into something bigger." Deadline is reporting that this is the second similar incident for Gibson on the Criminal Minds set and his future status on the show is under review.
