David O. Russell Wins Best Adapted Screenplay BAFTA for Silver Linings Playbook

David O. Russell won the BAFTA for Best Adapted Screenplay for Silver Linings Playbook. Backstage at the Royal Opera House he talked with Zoë Ball about his win. When asked if he was surprise he replied, "I was completely shocked...I've been sitting there with Jennifer Lawrence saying Argo [will win] all night." David says he was totally unprepared to make a thank you speech and so forgot to thank several people. He said the award is for all the people struggling. The film deals with two characters who are struggling with mental illness. David said he did a lot of rewrites after he got to know Jennifer, Bradley and Robert DeNiro and was still writing when the production was starting. Take a look:
