David Rosenthal Names New Penguin Imprint Blue Rider Press

Penguin Group (USA) launched an imprint in November 2010 helmed by David Rosenthal. Penguin announced today that Rosenthal has named the imprint, Blue Rider Press.
Rosenthal said in a statement, "The Blue Rider name historically represents individuality and quality in the arts. And that same intent will be reflected in the eclectic fiction and nonfiction books Blue Rider Press will publish."
Blue Rider Press has acquired books by over a dozen authors to date. Titles scheduled for Fall 2011 include The New New Rules by Bill Maher; Senator George McGovern's political blueprint, What It Means To Be A Democrat; and the bedtime story parody, Goodnight iPad.
Other Blue Rider Press books set for publication in 2012 and beyond include titles by New York Mets star pitcher R.A. Dickey, essayist and comedian Chris Elliott, screenwriter and producer Delia Ephron, former CIA agent turned suspense novelist Valerie Plame Wilson, as well as author and former New York Times op-ed page art director Leanne Shapton. Blue Rider Press will also publish debut novels by J.I. Baker, Stephen Dau, Blade Runner producer/screenwriter Hampton Fancher, and David Mark.
