David Spade to Publish Memoir With Dey Street Books

Posted on June 4, 2014

David Spade will publish his memoir with Dey Street Books, a HarperCollins imprint. The book will be published in Fall 2015. Spade is writing the book himself. The book has not yet been given a title.

HarperCollins says Spade's memoir will include stories from his early years in Arizona and his relationship with his absentee father. It will also cover his early stand-up career. The publisher says Spade will also provide an "epic tale of when he lost his virginity." Spade will also cover his SNL days and his time working with Dana Carvey, Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, Rob Schneider, and Chris Farley.

Spade says in the announcement, "I can't wait to hit the typewriter. It is time America's sweetheart (me, not Sandra Bullock) gets to tell his tales. The Dark Side of Buh-Bye or whatever I end up calling it will be full of borderline interesting anecdotes and forgettable memories. A 'must' buy and 'maybe' read for every household. 5 stars! (Says someone a year from now.)"
