Diablo Cody Discusses Creating a Female Anti-Hero for New Film, Young Adult

Oscar winning screenwriter Diablo Cody discusses creating the female lead in her new film, Young Adult. In the film Charlize Theron plays a ghostwriter for a popular young adult series who goes back to her hometown to reunite with her high school flame. The problem? He's married and has a baby. But that doesn't stop Charlize's character, who cares only about herself.

Diablo says didn't want to create a typical, beautiful female lead for the story. She wanted someone who was beautiful on the outside, but really ugly on the inside: an unusual anti-hero. Actress Elizabeth Reaser and director Jason Reitman also discuss the film, which will be released on December 16th. Take a look:
