Director Gary Ross Talks Bringing Suzanne Collins' The Hunger Games to the Big Screen

MTV has the first look at Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen in the film adaptation of The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins (Scholastic). Here is the teaser trailer, which shows Katniss running through the forest dodging obstacles, including fire. Take a look:

Director Gary Ross is a huge fan of the books. He says he's determined to bring the author's vision to the screen. Ross explained: "What everyone felt so strongly [about Katniss] -- they were in her shoes, they were in her head. It was such an intense first-person experience." He said he continually asked himself while filming, "How do we get inside Katniss' head? How do we feel what she's feeling? How do we become her?" Take a look:
