Donald Trump Tops New NBC News/WSJ Poll

Posted on August 2, 2015

Donald Trump continues to pull ahead of other GOP presidential candidates. Trump has 19% of the vote from the latest NBC News/WSJ poll. This gives him an edge in a very crowded field.

Donald Trump is at 19% of GOP primary voters. He is followed by Scott Walker in second with 15% and Jeb Bush in third with 14%.

As NBC News notes the top ten positions are very important because only the top 10 candidates will be eligible to participate in the Fox News debate that airs on Thursday. NBC says those making the cut so far are Trump, Walker, Bush, Paul, Carson, Rubio, Huckabee, Cruz, Christie and Kasich. Perry, Santorum and Jindal are among those missing the cut and the debate. The leading candidate also gets the center position on the stage so it looks like Trump will get that coveted position.

A smiling Trump is pictured above during a visit to Facebook earlier this year. Trump shared the photo on Instagram. He likely just as happy today with the new poll data.
