Ebooks Top Selling Book Format According to Association of American Publishers

Posted on April 16, 2011

The Association of American Publishers (AAP) released highlights of its February 2011 books sales report. The report indicates that ebooks ranked as the #1 format for the first time. For February 2011, ebooks ranked as the #1 format among all categories of trade publishing. Ebook sales grew 202.3% in February 2011 compared to February 2010.

The AAP is attributing the surge in ebook sales in February to a high level of strong post-holiday ebook buying, or "loading," by consumers who received ebook readers as gifts over the holidays. It is fun to load up your new reader.
