One Ventures, the parent to the new design publication, One, has appointed editorial veterans Marguerite Kramer and Stacy Morrison to the positions of Editorial Director and Editor-in-Chief, respectively. The announcement was made by One Ventures CEO and Founder, Dana Lyon.
As newly appointed Editorial Director, Marguerite Kramer will work closely with Stacy to fulfill the editorial mission of One. She will oversee the editorial department and contribute her creative expertise. Marguerite comes to One from her post as Style Director, VP for the online buyer's guide Productopia.com. Prior, she was a Senior Editor at Harper's Bazaar for ten years.
``One represents the perfect combination of design and technology as presented both online and in print. I am honored not only to be working at such a unique company, but with such talented and experienced people,'' says Marguerite Kramer.
As the newly appointed Editor-in-Chief of One, Stacy Morrison will oversee all editorial content of the publication as well as direct the staff to maintain the vision and goals set forth by One Ventures. Stacy joins One from her post as Editor-in-Chief of Modern Bride. Prior, Stacy held Managing Editor positions for the launch of both Conde Nast Sports for Women and Time Out New York. She has also worked at J. Crew, Inc., Mirabella and Mademoiselle.
``One is an opportunity I couldn't resist,'' says Stacy Morrison. ``The market is primed for a fully integrated cross-media property about design. What better way to show the many ways design impacts our lives than by pairing cutting-edge technology with a rich, dimensional magazine? Design is a lifestyle--from cars and fashion to toothbrushes and vases--and One will exemplify that with unparalleled art direction, navigation, photography and concepts.''
``We have been searching for the perfect candidates to spearhead our editorial mission and have found them with Stacy and Marguerite,'' said Dana Lyon, CEO and Founder of One Ventures. ``I am overwhelmed by the incredible feedback we are receiving on our magazine concept and are thrilled to have two media veterans that represent our reader to deliver our message. Together, their hands-on experience in launching magazines to extreme success makes them true assets to the company.''
Both Stacy and Marguerite will be based at One Ventures' San Francisco offices. As they assume these positions, Chee Pearlman will be named Editor-at-Large. Chee will continue to contribute to the editorial vision of One. Chee will be based in the New York offices. With offices in San Francisco and New York, One Ventures, Inc. is a Silicon Valley start up funded by venture capital firm, Sierra Ventures and Walden VC. The cross media company is unveiling its first branding product, One, in Fall 2000.
